I went in at 2:30 pm on a monday thinking I needed new brake pads on my Hyundai Tiburon. John was very friendly and said they'd do a brake inspection for $15 dollars then call and let me know what they found. At 4 I got a call saying the problem was with how the wheels were put back on by my previous mechanic and was now fixed. in the end, I picked up my car at 4:30 same day, paid only $15, and he even listed several other issues found during the description. Great mechanic!
John was very helpful and very friendly with me. I dont know much about cars so it was nice to feel like I could trust him and that he would not over charge me. I needed to get front and back brakes and they were able to have my car back to me mid day and they even called me when it was done! So helpful, I will def go back.
John at Complete Automotive is, as my friend puts it, a "righteous dude". He's a kind, friendly and an honest business owner and mechanic. We took our 1999 Nissan Sentra with 320,000+ miles into John when it wouldn't turn over. We were on our way to catch a train south that afternoon, ironically to borrow a back up car, so the timing couldn't have been worse. He was very accommodating under our stressed circumstances. The car was towed in Thursday afternoon and diagnosed by Friday afternoon. We decided we couldn't afford to fix it regardless of his good pricing, so we asked if we could keep it there over the weekend and tow it away Monday. He obliged and kept the car locked up in his shop for us. When we picked it up Monday, he answered all my questions about the car including another problem we were experiencing with the gear shift. He patiently explained how the mechanism worked giving me suggestions on what to try if we encounter the problem again. As a woman, I'm always apprehensive about taking my cars to get fixed because I've often talked to like I'm stupid or it's been assumed mechanics are a "guy thing" and I just need to know what needs to be done and the (sometimes inflated) cost of the repairs. I was completely comfortable with John and appreciated him respecting that I wanted to know more; he did an excellent job of providing me with further information. From now on, I will be taking my cars to him with any problems I encounter. Also, as a side note- I was thrilled to learn he is a certified Prius mechanic (which is our backup car).
John, owner of Complete Automotive, is the kind of auto mechanic a person is so glad to find. His honesty is refreshing, and he always goes beyond the normal when trying to help. My experiences over the past several years tells me that a person can trust this company to always be fair, honest, and do a good job.
If there is something wrong with your car, this is the place to go! John the owner is very friendly and helpful. Thanks for the great experience John! Highly recommended!
Service amazing! I was on my way to la and my car began lurching.I knew I had to pull it over somewhere to get my car checked out. I went on yelp and found Jon at complete automotive. I called on my way over and they took me right in. Jon only took a few hours and he personally took my girlfriend and I downtown so we wouldn't have to wait i the shop. Straightforward, honest, a fair price and a great taste in burgers! Thanks again Jon and the crew at complete automotive for getting us back on the road.
I couldn't say one bad word about this place! There are so many great places in SLO to get your car fixed but I am happy that I chose this one. At first I just took it there to get my oil changed in my Honda, but then John said that he had some time to diagnose a problem I had been having in my car for quite sometime. He said it would be about $100 to diagnose but I only ended up playing $40, plus the oil change which was very reasonable! Also, he was able to find out what was wrong with my car when no other place I had taken it to so far was. I took my car back the next Friday to get the problem fixed and he said that it would take about 2 hours. He called me an hour and a half later to tell me that another piece was broken and that he probably wouldnt be able to get one until Monday. Luckily he took the time to go to the salvage yard and find the exact piece need for my car and stayed late to get it taken care of. He even met with me on Saturday morning (his day off!) so that I can come pick it up and have my car for the weekend. Thanks John!! I am never taking my car anywhere else :)
I just had my Ford Explorer worked on by John and his crew. I was pretty worried that they wouldn't be able to bring it back from what I percieved as near dead. They did a fine job at a more than fair price with outstanding service. If you know nothing about auto repair, it is so easy to get ripped off. That will never happen at Complete Automotive. Highly recommended!
After getting a pretty hefty price for a brake job, I was referred to Complete Auto by a friend in the used car biz, and I can't thank her enough! The cost was more affordable and the work was done in a convenient and timely manner. I try to keep my business in the South County, but come on , hundreds of dollars in savings elsewhere is nothing to sneeze at, especially when you're on a budget and trying to get the most miles out of your car.
Great pricing, straight talking, just what you need to keep your car in shape.
